On September, 22, as part of the European Day of Jewish Culture and Jewish Heritage, in memory of those who perished in Lviv, representatives of the Jewish community read out the names of the Ukrainians –- the Righteous among the Nations, people who saved Jews from the Nazis, risking their own lives.

The area of Pisky, Lviv. Here, in 1941-1943, up to 300,000 people were executed, most of whom were Jews. The Lviv ghetto – Yanovsky concentration camp – Pisky. That was the last way for most of the 150,000 Lviv Jews. Only 2,000 Jews survived here.

The project of the Jewish Confederation of Ukraine “The Righteous People of My City” continues to expand its geography. 16 streets in different cities and villages have already been named after the Righteous Among the Nations. «I hope that in the near future Lviv will also join the JCU initiative», — said Lozhkin.
